Ode to Mom – 10 Years Later

 

We all lose a loved one in our lives

Whether close to a Holiday or not

But the Pain is still the same

And not easily forgot

Some will say Time Heals All Wounds

And that in time our pain will subside

But the remembrance of the Day she Left

Stirs up the same feelings as the day She Died

But I vow today not to be Sad

But to celebrate a Life so Rich and Varied

And Remember Her as One of the Best

Who taught me that though Life could be Scary

She would always be there for Me

And that She’d Love Me through Tick & Thin

So that’s what I will choose to Remember

And find Comfort in Her Within

So Mom, though its been 10 years

Since you were taken so Soon and in Pain

You still live in Me and and in my Thoughts

And the Love you Gave will always Remain
